In short
Antonio López Sánchez was born in Havana on 16 January 1973. He holds a degree in Social Communication from the University of Havana, graduated from the ninth course of the Onelio Jorge Cardoso Centre for Literary Training in 2007, and completed the postgraduate programme Crítica con Arte at the José Martí International Institute of Journalism in 2022.
He has published fourteen books since 2001, across heroic fantasy, horror, children's literature, poetry, and essays and interviews on the Cuban Nueva Trova. He has spent his working life in the Cuban cultural press.
This site is his catalogue and his archive. It was built because a good deal of the work was scattered across publications that are disappearing: one of the radio stations that broadcast him is now entirely offline, and those programmes survive here and in the Internet Archive.

- 2026. First Prize in Poetry, XXX Premio Farraluque de Literatura Erótica, and an honourable mention in short fiction at the same competition.
- 2026. Premio Colateral Yasmina Calcines, XXVI Concurso Nacional Ala Décima.
- 2014. Honourable mention, Concurso La Edad de Oro, for the then unpublished novel El otro lado del espejo.
- 2013. Finalist, Concurso de Minicuentos El Dinosaurio.
- 2012. Premio La Rosa Blanca, awarded by UNEAC, for Las guerreras de la luz.
- 2005. First prize, Reescribir El Quijote en Cuba.
- 2002. Prize in written press, Concurso 26 de Julio, awarded by UPEC, the Cuban journalists' union.
Journalism
Cultural sections of the magazines Mujeres and Muchacha, 2001 to 2010. Since then his work has appeared in La Jiribilla, La Gaceta de Cuba, El Caimán Barbudo, Juventud Rebelde, Alma Máter, AM PM Magazine, Cartelera and Cubaliteraria.
He has been editor in chief of the magazine Correo del libro, ran the book review section Pantallas de papel on the digital portal of the Cuban Institute of Radio and Television, and in 2023 was asked by the Cuban Book Institute to direct the special edition of El Cañonazo, the daily paper of the Havana International Book Fair, across its ten daily issues.
Since February 2026 he has again been part of the communications team at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Havana.
