The case, and the cost
Heroic fantasy in English is an enormous market and a crowded one, and there is no point pretending otherwise. What is uncommon is where these books come from. This is heroic fantasy written in Havana, published by Cuban houses, with women at the centre of its first two sagas.
The honest obstacle is the translation. These are novels, not essays, and a literary translation is expensive. Synopses and full manuscripts are available for anyone weighing that cost, and any conversation about co-funding a translation is welcome.

A saga published as a boxed set of five illustrated volumes, with artwork by Rainel Cabarroi. The most ambitious object in the catalogue and the one that most obviously wants a series deal rather than a single title.

De la extraña aventura de Don Quijote por lejanas tierras y otros sucesos hasta hoy olvidados
Cervantes rewritten from Cuba: swept away at the windmills, Don Quixote and Sancho land in 1990s Havana. It won the Reescribir El Quijote en Cuba competition in 2005, from a jury that included Leonardo Padura, and it can be read free in Spanish.
Short stories
Alongside the novels there is a body of short fiction, published complete on this site in Spanish: a psychiatrist's consulting room, a neighbour who decides to kill a tree, six friends who need to complete an ancient rite, a toy dragon in a child's bedroom.
Short fiction is often the cheapest way for a foreign publisher to test an author. Individual stories are available for magazine and anthology publication, in Spanish or in translation.

World rights outside Cuba are available for every title above. Cuban editions hold exclusivity inside Cuba only, and that exclusivity is not affected by any agreement made here.
Five poetry collections and three story collections are finished and unpublished. Nothing has been offered anywhere outside Cuba.
